Master’s Message – January 2011
Brethren,
I would like to wish all of our Brothers a Happy New Year, and invite you to attend Lodge sometime in the coming year. I know that many of you live a great distance from our meeting place in Oceanside, so I would request you to attend the lodge nearest to the place where you live.
I would like to welcome our new brothers, John Wise and Blake Lynch who were initiated on December 13th. We also have one more candidate, Jessie Heisler, who will be receiving his First Degree this month.
The Grand Master’s Project is “By Your Side” with the purpose of assisting nurses to be certified in oncology nursing. The Grand Master, Bill Bray, and his wife, Linda, are both cancer survivors and were helped by nurses with oncology training. The presence of a Certified Oncology Nurse can make an incredible difference in the quality of care, communication with patients and family, as well as the management of the fight against cancer. I would also hope that each of you, individually, would support this project to the best of your ability. I am planning events that will show the lodges support for this very worth while project. The first will be an afternoon poker tournament at 3 PM on Saturday, January 22nd at the home of our Sr. Stewart. For a $30.00 entry fee, snacks will be provided, and prizes for the last three chip holders.
I have included in the budget money for the lodge to comp your dinner prior to the stated meeting in the month that you were born. I am doing this as an incentive, in these financially hard times, to get you to come to lodge at least once this coming year. I hope that I will have the opportunity to greet you several times in 2011.
Fraternally,
Drew Middleton

Master’s Message – December 2010
Brethren,
Another year is quickly coming to a close. I have been honored to serve as your Master and I thank your the allowing me this privilege. This year was very successful for the Lodge, but was, once again, very difficult for me during the middle of the year. I would like to thank everyone in the Lodge for their help during this time, but I would especially like to thank Worshipful Brothers Roy Youngblood, John Brooks and Tom Traver for all of their assistance. Also, I would like to thank the Officer’s for all of their great work throughout the year.
I would like to congratulate Drew Middleton for being elected as the Worshipful Master for 2011—the Lodge is in good hands!
Also, Brethren, I would like to thank your for once again electing me to serve as Junior Warden for 2011.
The Installation of Officers will take place on Dec. 11, 2010. All of the Officers look forward to seeing you there!
Please attend the Stated Meeting in December.

Master’s Message – November 2010
Brethren,
The Lodge’s annual Election of Officers will be on November 1st. Please make every effort to attend this important event to support the Lodge and next year’s Officers.
October was an active month for the Lodge with the Masonic Information and Child ID Booth at the Oceanside Harbor. My “Thanks” to Don Jones for chairing the project, and Brothers John Brooks, Bill Hurd, John Chapman, William Jemison, Ron Simonton, Joseph Manimat, Iggy Santiago Oscar Rauda, Adam Hansley, Alan Tirol, Todd Hunter and Drew Middleton for volunteering to work the two days.
We Initiated Charles Ihrig an Entered Apprentice on October 18th, and on the 11th Brothers Eric Gual and Joshua Blackburn were passed to Fellowcraft.
November will also be another busy month in the Lodge with a Third Degree for Joshua Blackburn on the 8th, Second Degree for Derrick Dennis on the 22nd, and a First Degree on the 29th for Mr. Field (if he is elected). We also will host the Officers’ School of Instruction on the 15th; the Officer’s and Candidate’s appreciate your support.
I would also like to recognize Brother Gregg Gunther who very admirably filled the shoes of the Secretary, while Bro Roy and Beverly were cruising to Baltimore via the Panama Canal.
As a last minute addition to the October calendar, I have scheduled Brother Eric Gual to receive his Master Mason Degree. He is desirous to become an active member of our Lodge.

Master’s Message – October 2010
Brethren,
In September the lodge honored Worshipful John Brooks with this year’s Hiram Award. The event was spectacular. We also initiated one new member, Brother Frank Pecoraro.
For those brothers in attendance at out last Stated Meeting, you will recall the point brought up by several members regarding our Lodge’s support for the Youth Groups—they are a very important part of our Masonic Family and need you to attend their meetings support the fund raising activities that they have.
PLEASE attend our Stated Meetings and, as always, the lodge officers and our candidates appreciate your support at our Degrees.
Our lodge was one of 13 in California to be recognized by 2010 Grand Master Ken Nagel for having 100% of its officers donating to the Masonic Homes this last year.
Congratulations to WorBro Roy Youngblood, who has been appointed a member of the Grand Lodge Youth Orders Committee by 2011 Grand Master Bill Bray.

Master’s Message – September 2010
Brethren,
August was again another busy month for the Lodge with several Degree conferrals. The Lodge performed two 3rd Degrees and a double 1st degree.
Worshipful John Brooks was selected as the recipient for the Hiram Award for our Lodge for 2010. I think that I speak for the entire Lodge when I say that there is not a more deserving Mason this year for this award. John can be seen setting up the Lodge before each Degree or Stated Meeting, coaching countless Candidates, picking up and driving home Mason’s who can no longer drive—John’s charity in serving our Lodge knows no end. I would like to congratulate John on this honor, and thank John for his devotion and service.
Please attend the dinner on Saturday September 11th at 6 PM and celebrate with us.
Please attend our Stated Meetings and, as always, the Officer’s and Candidate’s appreciate your support at our Degrees.
Fraternally,
Dave Lonergan

Master’s Message – August 2010
Brethren,
I would like to thank the five brothers, WorBro John Brooks, WorBro Roy Youngblood, Bro Joseph Manimat, Bro Matt Harris, and EA Bro Ron Simonton who attended the Freedom Day Parade on July 3rd—this is a busy time for some families and the Lodge appreciates the efforts of all of those who were able to attend. We also value the participation of the ladies of the Eastern Star, the DeMolay boys, the girls of the Job’s Daughters and Rainbow, and their adult leaders.
August will be a busy month with several 3rd Degrees. The Candidates, Lodge, and Officers could use everyone’s support this month, so we hope to see you in attendance.
Please attend our Stated Meetings and, as always, the Officer’s and Candidate’s appreciate your support at our Degrees.

Master’s Message – July 2010
Brethren,
June was another busy month for the Lodge with several Degree conferrals. It was nice to see so many side liners in attendance at our 1st Degree on June 10th and look forward to to see many more at the double 2nd Degrees on the 28th. I hope this continues and also wish to see many more of you in attendance at the meetings this month.
Several Members of our Lodge took part in “Operation Greatest Gift” and traveled to Washington, D.C. to see the World War II Memorial dedicated to Veteran’s who served in that war. WorBro Roy Youngblood escorted a group of our Brothers on the trip and the Lodge is very proud to have supported this wonderful effort. It was an honor and I am proud of the 110% support that the member’s of our Lodge gave towards this project.
Please attend our Stated Meetings and, as always, the Officer’s and Candidate’s appreciate your support at our Degrees.

Master’s Message – June 2010
Brethren,
May was again a productive month for the Lodge.
Our Honored Lady’s luncheon was very well attended. I would like to thank all of the Officer’s who turned out to lend a helping hand. Brother Dan Spalding did an outstanding job in assisting in all areas of the event and Beverly Youngblood and her help prepared a fabulous dinner. I would also like to thank Brother Gunther for providing the entertainment. We had many comments from the Lady’s on the efforts of all of the Officers and they really enjoyed the event. I hope we can continue to have all such events to be as well attended.
Our Lodge also hosted the Officer School of Instruction on May 17th where we exemplified the Third Degree. I would like to congratulate all of our new Master Masons, and newly Affiliated Brothers for pitching in – the Lodge appreciates your efforts and the work was out- standing.
Our June stating meeting will be on June 7th and we look forward to seeing you all there, and in attendance at our Degrees in support of the Candidates, Officers and the Lodge.
Fraternally,
David Lonergan

Master’s Message – May 2010
Brethren,
April was again a very busy month in the Lodge with many Degree conferrals. Congratulations to all of the Candidates who were Initiated and progressing in their Degree work and to the Officers for putting on fine work.
Our Lodge has been busier than ever with all of the Officers working very hard to help put on good Degree’s for the Candidates, who are very eager to progress. One area of disappointment is the number of Masons in attendance. At one Degree last month, 66% of the sideliners were not members of our Lodge—a pretty easy statistic to achieve with only 3 sideliners. It would be appreciated by the Candidates and Officers if more Masons would be in attendance in the future.
Worshipful Brothers John Brooks and Tom Traver have been holding Classes of Instruction for the Deacons and Stewards. These nights have been well attended and many of our new Master Masons are eagerly participating as well. I would encourage anyone interested to attend, and I thank John, Tom, and all of the Officers and Members who have taken part so far for their time and efforts. This service is great for our Lodge.
Please attend our Stated Meetings and, as always, the Officer’s and Candidate’s appreciate your support at our Degree’s.
Fraternally,
Dave Lonergan
Worshipful Master
